In case you haven’t brushed up on your Dodgeball recently, ESPN8 “The Ocho” is the sports network “bringing you the finest in seldom seen sports.” On August 8 (more appropriately, 8/8, or next Tuesday if you don’t feel like looking at a calendar) ESPN is bringing the fictional network to life by transforming ESPNU into ESPN8, The Ocho. Beginning at midnight, the programming will feature offbeat and wacky events like the 2016 American Disc Golf Championship, the 2016 WFTDA Roller Derby Championships, 2016 Sky Zone Ultimate Trampoline Dodgeball, Moxie Games and the Firefighters World Challenge XXV. The events will be aired on the fictional network for 24 hours only. Unfortunately, Cotton McKnight and Pepper Brooks were previously booked and will not be presenting the events. It’s a bold strategy, ESPN.
