Apple News+ Gives You Access to over 300 Publications for One Fee

With so many ways to get your news on a daily basis, it’s easy to overlook the native Apple News app already on your phone. Apple wants to change that with their newly launched Apple News+ subscription service that adds over 300 publications to your News app for one low monthly fee. It’s basically Netflix or Spotify for magazines and newspapers, but despite the fact the idea isn’t new, the value proposition is incredible. For $9.99 a month you get access to your favorite magazines like: The Atlantic, Bon Appétit, Condé Nast Traveler, ESPN The Magazine, Esquire, Food & Wine, GQ, National Geographic, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Runner’s World, Sports Illustrated, TIME, Travel + Leisure, and WIRED, among others. There will also be curated content on the newspaper side from the likes of The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and Toronto Star, along with premium online content from sources like Vulture, The Cut and Grub Street. No one has enough time to consume that much content, but Apple did point out that if you were to subscribe to all of the publications in Apple News+ individually, it would cost you more than $8,000. Even if you only read a few of the magazines, ten bucks a month is cheaper than individual subscriptions. Apple News+ is already live in the US and Canada, but you might have to update your device to iOS 12.2 or macOS 10.14.4 to see it.
