The classic Rapide is one of the most valuable vintage bikes around. For its time, the Rapide was fast. The V-twin superbike could hit 110+ mph, very “rapide” for its time. All by itself, it’s a beauty. This 1951 version has been redone by none other than legendary motorcycle builder Max Hazan. It’s so good, it even won the Best of Show at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering in 2022. Hazan rebuilt the engine and gearbox and also gave it his own custom carburetors made from scratch. He even machined his own drum brakes, front fork, and the rear shock. It’s one of the few examples of a legendary bike made even better at the hands of a master.
