We don’t want to go all doom and gloom on you, but the whole climate change thing could very well present a bevy of major issues. This isn’t breaking news. If you live in a coastal city, you may want to swap your car for a jet ski. Or, better yet, relocate to Wayaland. Wayaland is a concept from Pierpaolo Lazzarini that is very much like a floating city. Inspired by Mayan architecture and by Japanese temples, the pyramid modules all float and combine to form a community. There’s a hotel, suite, villa, and club, and Lazzarini imagines things like soccer fields mixed in for residence to use. While this sounds like a pipe dream, the Lazzarini started a crowdfunding campaign along with a goal to have the first elements of Wayaland available to use in 2022. Investors become citizens while guests can simply book a few nights.
