Whether you’re talking about sheets with thread counts in the thousands, a boutique bar stocked with the best whiskeys and fancy restaurants, we’ll always appreciate the allure of five-star accommodations when we’re traveling. And yet, there will always be a place in our hearts for the classic dive bar and retro motel because they have a different kind of allure of their own. Lyon Porter and Jersey Banks decided to combine those two of our favorite things, and a swimming pool, to create The Dive Motel & Swim Club in Nashville. The dive bar is adorned with vintage checker tiling, wood paneling and leather booths, and it’s open 7 days a week until 2am. The motel has 23 uniquely designed rooms that are all decked out in vintage decor and kitsch and feature a “Party Switch” that spins a disco ball to the tunes of “Dive Radio”, along with bathtubs next to the beds. Then there’s the swim club and hot tub right outside of your room that has affordable memberships, special poolside events and pool parties, and a 10% discount on food and beverages. We’ll see you in Nashville.
