You might not have to wake in the morning to stretch before your jousting match, but if you want a bit of a medieval experience—albeit a much swankier one—consider staying on the grounds of Leeds Castle. You can choose between eight striped tents that sit outside the castle, each equipped with a dresser, four-poster bed, and a wood-burning stove. An outdoor fire pit allows guests to cook meals like they would have back in the day, and you even get access to the castle during your stay. It’s not exactly roughing it, but we’d gladly bring some jugs of wine and roast up a few whole chickens during a short stay.
