The Mecca of basketball is one of the most iconic venues in the world. Now, Madison Square Garden wants to build the next iconic venue just over the pond. The MSG Sphere is a live entertainment venue that looks like a futuristic Epcot Center. Designed by Populous, a Kansas City-based company that has designed numerous stadiums, the MSG Sphere will house 18,000 seats and will feature the world’s largest and highest resolution media display. Planned for the district of Stratford in East London, the sci-fi-looking structure will sit next to the University College London and the Victoria and Albert Museum. If Daft Punk plays there, as the mock-ups show, we’re buying tickets the second they go on sale.
