Whether it’s huge skyscrapers or container houses, when it comes to innovative architecture, few firms do it as well as the Bjarke Ingles Group (BIG). That’s probably why storied watch brand Audemars Piguet commissioned the firm for the Hôtel des Horlogers in Switzerland. A collaborative project between the brand, BIG and local fim Cche Architecture, the hotel will be a sprawling 75,000 sq ft complex complete with restaurants, bar, spa, conference center and plenty of guest rooms arranged in a zig-zagging slab configuration that will allow guests to ski directly from their rooms to the local ski trails when the paths are covered in powder. Yes, you read that correctly. You’ll be able to ski down the hotel. The project is set to be completed in 2020 and will sit near the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet that BIG and the rest of the team from the hotel are also involved in.
