You could easily convince us to take a ride in a 1920s steam locomotive through the Colorado mountains without offering us beer. So it should come as no surprise that a trip on the Durango Brew Train sounds a lot like heaven. An authentic 1920s steam locomotive takes passengers through the Animas Valley, high above the Animas River, through to San Juan National Forest, all while you enjoy beer from Steamworks, Ska, Animas Brewing, and a few other craft breweries from the area. That’s all the good news. The bad news is the Durango Brew Train doesn’t run often, so it’s best to keep tabs on its website so you can reserve your place aboard this magical, drunken journey.
