Volvo P1800 Cyan

Few people know the Volvo P1800 sports coupe ever existed, but automotive enthusiasts love it. Even Roger Moore’s Simon Templar in “The Saint” TV series was cool enough to drive it on screen. Cyan Racing (the remaining arm of now Volvo-owned Polestar) has taken the essential look of the P1800 and reinterpreted it for the performance driving enthusiast. Their P1800 Cyan is light (2,183 lbs), powerful (420 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque), and likely very fast, as a result. The base car was a 1964 P1800 using new high-strength steel and carbon fiber for lightness and increased rigidity. The Cyan receives a wider track and repositioned greenhouse, as well as huge track-worthy tires and a sweet Swede paint job. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine is mated to a five-speed manual Holinger gearbox, and the Cyan also gets a new suspension setup with adjustable dampers. To keep the driving experience organic, the car has no ABS or power-assist brakes. The cost? A hefty $500,000.
