Toyota and JAXA Collaborated to Create a Concept Pressurized Rover

Even if you never dreamed of being astronaut–which we highly doubt–there will always be something enthralling about the moon. The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA – Japanese NASA) has teamed up with Toyota to create a concept lunar rover that will change lunar exploration the same way the space shuttle changed our exploration of space. The manned, pressurized rover will be 6m long, 5.2m wide and 3.8m tall (Toyota says it’s about the size of two microbuses), which means it can accommodate two people “comfortably” or four people in an emergency. That’s impressive enough as is, but not even the most notable aspect of this vehicle. If it’s ever produced, this pressurized rover would have a total lunar cruising range of more than 6,200 miles (10,000 km), which will make it one helluva capable vehicle if they can ever get it to the moon. Here’s hoping we get to see one of these in action during our lifetime.
