The “Eleanor” Mustang Shelby GT500 from “Gone in 60 Seconds” is For Sale

The star of the 2000 Dominic Sena directed movie, Gone in 60 Seconds, may actually have been a car instead of Nick Cage. The custom-built and Chip Foose-designed “Eleanor” Shelby Mustang GT500 that was the money shot car used in the film is now up for sale, and it’s way more than a cosmetic piece. It has performance upgrades like a HiPo 5.8-liter V8, Magnaflow mufflers, side exhaust pipes, and even a Nitrous system that works (with a the now iconic “Go Baby Go” red button), as if the engine power wasn’t sufficient. The car has been full restored to perfection. Eleanor’s infamy extends far beyond the movie, since it likely inspired the gamut of ‘Stang restomods over the past two decades. Expect big money to come from this auction since this is one of the most desirable GT500s to come down the pipe in a while.
