Rtech Fabrications Ponderosa

Idaho-based Rtech has just built a restomod to make all others wet themselves with its nostalgia, size, and earth crust-warping power. The base vehicle is a 1966 Chevy K30 Crew Cab body that’s paired with a 1972 C30 chassis, and its name is the Ponderosa. Rather than a defunct steakhouse from the ‘70s, this bad boy is a 20-foot long, 8-foot tall monster truck that’s got a 550 horsepower and 1,300 lb-ft Cummins diesel engine. Rtech took everything and made it stronger, including using 16-gauge sheetmetal, tubular steel rocker panels, and hydraulic mounts. There’s also a big Warn winch for pulling duties and bright LED headlights so you can navigate this beast in the dark. The Ponderosa also benefits from super-tough Dana axles front and rear, Bilstein shocks, and really big brakes to bring the monster to a stop. But its not all rough and tumble. The bed is lined in ash wood, and the interior gets custom upholstery and carpet, digital gauges, premium sound, and even navigation. What it doesn’t have is the ability to dock in those slivers of parking spots at the local strip mall. But who cares with this thing. Just triple park it. No one will say anything.
