Paul Newman’s Datsun 280ZX

Paul Newman was a man among men. Actor, philanthropist, race car driver. His passion for driving was evident, and he was actually skilled enough to race competitively. Newman was so good that he stood on the podium for 2nd place at the 1979 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the world’s most grueling endurance races. Newman’s Datsun 280Z. that he raced with and won the 1979 SCCA National C-Production Championship, as well as at Watkins Glen, Summit Point, Brainerd, Road Atlanta, and Lime Rock. Clearly, the Datsun was as capable a car as Newman was a driver. The 280ZX was recently restored, and it also includes original spare parts. The asking price is a cool $7 million, so we’re not sure the owner will track it. Its historicity and driver renown should afford it a place in one seriously impressive collector stable.
