EVs aren’t exactly new anymore. Soon enough, they’ll be ubiquitous across the land, and you’ll have to get on board. But the tech isn’t just reserved for passenger vehicles and motorcycles. Nikola is building their electric-only off-roader that’s anything but basic transportation. The new NZT is an exciting blend of dune-buggy, ATV, and small SUV that’s about as radical as we’ve seen. The four-seater gets a 125kWh battery pack that drives four motors and wheels to the tune of 590 horses, giving it 150 miles of range and a 0-60 time of four seconds flat. The big Fox shocks have 18 inches of wheel travel, and the 17-inch wheels get Kevlar-bead all-terrain tires, giving you the kind of capability to keep you off pavement all day long. Go open cab with roll bars or closed when things get wet and dirty thanks to a removable hard top canopy. Production starts in 2021, but you can pre-order at no cost now.
