Mercedes-Benz makes boats? What?? Well, the German automaker has worked with Cigarette Racing for twelve years to build its AMG speedboats as companion vehicles to their high-performance AMG automobiles, and this year is no exception. Built for the Miami International Boat Show, the 41-foot AMG Carbon Edition matches its wheeled partner, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S Carbon Edition performance “four-door coupe” in aesthetics and the penchant for power. Four outboard motors make 1,600 horsepower and can propel the boat to 83 mph. The Carbon Edition gets a special paint finish and carbon-fiber pattern design on the hull. It’s called designo graphite grey magno, a paint created specifically for the AMG GT Coupe, and the graphic pattern alternates between gloss and matte finishes. Plenty of carbon fiber makes for reduced weight, and “Cigarette Cool” upholstery on the seats will keep passengers 30% cooler by reflecting heat away from their posteriors, a common boating affliction of the painfully affluent. Look for the new boat along with the complementary car on display this week in Miami. We’re sure Mercedes will take orders for both if you have the funds, even though they are only in concept form.
