Purists might consider electrifying automotive legends just plain wrong, but Lunaz Design is taking the glorious automotive past and infusing them with zero-emissions powertrains that extend the lives of these special cars. The company takes vintage exotics like the 1953 Jaguar XK120 and a 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V and installs battery packs (80kWh for the Jag and 120kWh for the Rolls) and in-house electric motors for 375 horsepower worth of oomph. The end result are cars that lose none of their visual beauty while gaining more power than the gas engines they were born with. A Tesla will never have this much style, and no one will suspect the silver-haired gent behind the wheel is really driving a sophisticated EV sleeper. Builds begin this November with a starting price of $430,000 for the Jag. The Rolls has yet to be priced out but expect it to be a bit more.
