Lister Knobbly Roadster

Lister Knobbly Roadster

Lister is digging into its 1958 past and resurrecting the Knobbly, a Lister-Jaguar prototype that echoed famous cars like the Jaguar D-Type had similar aesthetics to the stunning Maserati Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’, which would come afterward. The UK car builder takes the mindset behind the original open-top two-seater and brings it to the modern age. Just like the first Knobbly, this one’s meant for track duty, and though no specs have been revealed, the new Knobbly should have way more power than the original’s 256 horsepower from its inline-six cylinder engine. Expect it to be a face-puller with a rumored 1,000 horsepower from a 7.8-liter V12 that’s found in the Lister Storm II concept. That mill, along with racing seats, huge front and rear haunches, and what appear to be massive carbon ceramic brakes should make for a truly exhilarating track experience. If there’s enough demand for this tarmac roaster, Lister may actually build the thing, and what a hoot it should be.
