We love NASA. We love LEGO. We love Airstreams. So naturally, it should come as no surprise that when we saw a vehicle that combined three of our favorite things we were all in. Enter the LEGO Ideas Airstream NASA Astrovan. Designed and built by LEGO IDea member Jeno1, this 8 stud wide vehicle is a brick-by-brick reconstruction of everything you need for transportation to and from the spaceport. As Jeno1 tells it, “The Astrovan is a NASA vehicle used at the Kennedy Space Center to transport astronauts from the Operations and Checkout Building to the launch pad before a launch mission and back to Operations and Checkout Building following a shuttle landing. This model is a modified 1983 Airstream Excella motorhome, and has been in use since the STS-9 mission in November 1983.” We loved building it in bricks, but honestly, if anyone ever built a life-sized version, we’d happily live in it for real.
