The P1 is the blue oval’s first esports concept car via its Fordzilla team, and it’s every bit as imaginative as it is evocative of the original Le Mans Ford GT40 that inspired it. The conceptual hypercar is actually a partially crowd-sourced design whereby gaming fans provided input on Twitter regarding the car’s powertrain, seating position, and cockpit before it went to the team’s designers. The low-slung race car sports huge wheels with tight clearances in the wheel wells, massive aerodynamic elements, and some dramatic LED lighting signatures. For now, the P1 is a mere 3D rendering, but the team hopes to create a full-scale model, as well as a drivable (virtually, that is) version for an upcoming video game. We’re still trying to figure out how to get inside the damned thing.
