When Ford originally unveiled the Mustang Mach-E we were more than a little dubious about how the electric crossover designed to compete with the Tesla Model Y was going to perform. Even with the 459 horsepower the GT and GT Performance models are packing, is the Mach-E really worthy of Mustang badging? Ford’s latest creation, the Ford Performance x RTR Mustang Mach-E 1400 Prototype, puts all that to rest once and for all. This one-off prototype is a collaboration between Ford Performance and Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s RTR Vehicles with seven different motors and a high performance battery producing an estimated 1,400 peak horsepower and more than 2,300 lb. of downforce. The only way to truly test it? Put it on the track with Gittin Jr. behind the wheel and let him go head to head with other Ford Performance drivers like Ken Block, Chelsea Denofa, Hailie Deegan and Joey Logano in their vehicles of choice. As you’ll see in the video above, the Mach-E 1400 does not disappoint.
