Ferrari is like the automotive equivalent to that kid in high school who lettered in three sports while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and hitting a perfect score on the SAT. Yep, he was an Adonis, too. Haters gonna hate. The fact that the Italian exotic automaker can continue to churn out superlative four-wheeled wonders every few years is downright mindboggling. Now, they’ve outdone themselves with the replacement to the scintillating 488 GTB with the F8 Tributo that houses the brand’s most powerful V8 engine, ever. Under the rear canopy resides a twin-turbo V8 with 720 horses and 568 lb-ft of torque that enables it to hit 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and a 488 Pista-matching 211 mph top speed. It’s also 88 lbs lighter than the previous car, which means more tossability on that automotive country-club track to which you should probably belong. Aerodynamic components provide greater levels of wind-cheating, as well as downforce for stability and track-stickiness. The Tributo name bears meaning by virtue of the car’s 308 GTB styling cues and a Lexan engine cover that echoes the legendary F40 supercar. The F8 Tributo will show up in the flesh at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show next week.
