Sir Elton John’s 1972 Ferrari Daytona Is for Sale

Hot off the success of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Sir Elton John decided to reward himself by purchasing a Ferrari—but not just any Ferrari. A 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona finished in Rosso Chiaro with black interior and 1 of only 158 genuine right-hand drive vehicles. Once billed as the fastest road car in the world, this Daytona is a 4.4-liter 4-cam V12 that develops 352bhp and can hit a top speed of 175mph. As impressive as the car is on the pavement or in person, it’s even more impressive on paper. The “Rocketman” himself might have only owned the car for a few years, but since then it’s remained in the hands of Ferrari Owners’ Club member-owners with a fully known and documented ownership and maintenance history. Sir Elton John’s 1972 Ferrari Daytona is set to roll across the block during The Silverstone Classic Sale 2017 at the Silverstone Circuit on July 29 and 30. If you want to own a piece of rock history, expect to bust out a hefty chunk of change. This Daytona is estimated to bring between $677k and $750k.
