Elizabeth Taylor is an iconic actress that requires no introduction, well, anywhere. What you might not know is that she owned one particular, very special Rolls-Royce that was with her longer than any of her husbands. In 1960, Taylor had a one-off, custom 1961 Rolls-Royce Cloud II Convertible made–one of only 20 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Dropheads with left-hand drive that were ever built–in the same shade of green as her wedding dress and delivered to The Pierre hotel on Fifth Avenue in New York City. After two decades of her ownership and four decades in the hands of the collector that’s currently selling it, the car affectionately known as the “Green Goddess” is heading to auction at the same site where it was originally delivered. The “Green Goddess” is expected to fetch between $1 million and $2 million when it rolls across the block on Tuesday.
