Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE in its Original Factory Crate

We just found our grail Christmas gift, and it’s already boxed for wrapping. This super-rare Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE came out in 2006 in limited production. Designed by famed Ducati designer Pierre Terblanche, the bike was built as an homage to racer Paul Smart’s illustrious 1972 Imola 200 race victory that brought Ducati to the forefront of moto racing. This one just happens to still be in its factory crate, having never been removed or ridden. the 992cc L-twin engine spits out 92 horsepower and provides scintillating performance without the intimidation factor of a true racing bike. Though it may look like the original Paul Smart bike, it gets a modern chassis, brakes, suspension, and gearbox. A mere 2,000 of these were made, and this special one has zero miles on it, and it even boasts original signatures from Paul Smart and Pierre Terblanche on the body. It goes up for auction via Bonhams on January 23rd. We know the winning bidder will struggle between wanting desperately to hit the open road with it or keep it in mint condition in the crate as the ultimate office decor.
