Son of Time is an ongoing collaborative project between Dutch watchmaker TW Steel and different bike builders that sees the creation of a timepiece and motorcycle at the end of each leg. The latest release is Æon, a project TW Steel did with German bike builder Diamond Atelier based on a stripped down Yamaha XSR900. The bike got a custom tank that arches over the engine, Wilbers rear shock, SC-Projects exhaust, lowered forks, Gilles rear sets, steel braided brake lines and Pirelli super slick tires that come together to create a silhouette that’s as brutal as it is beautiful. The TW Steel watch that was built in concert with the bike is firmly situated under a front flap where the headlight should be, so this is not a survival bike or even suitable for nighttime riding. The bike is even more impractical with those super slick Pirellis and a reported gas tank capacity of under a gallon. It’s definitely more of a looker than a daily ride, but that just makes us want it even more.
