Australian-based Deus Ex Machina custom bikes is one of the best mod shops in the world. The Beastie showcases some of their best work to date, and it’s based on the already awesome Ducati Hyper SP Michael “Woolie” Woolaway (who just so happens to be Deus’ U.S. Design Director) used on his Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 2018, where he nabbed second place. Woolaway took his bike and modded the hell out of it, giving it a new gearbox for quicker acceleration, a longer magnesium swingarm, and a 180-horsepower tuned engine from a Ducati 1198R. In his 2019 Pikes Peak run, he took the bike out and beat his previous time, despite finishing in fourth. But the proof is in the pudding because the Beastie is nimble, hella fast, and uber-light at a mere 340 pounds, and it clearly shows that the work put in made the bike better than it already was.
