The World’s First Pure Carbon Electric Skateboard

The World’s First Pure Carbon Electric Skateboard

121C makes great carbon fiber skateboard decks. Arc Boards makes great electric skateboards. The two brands teamed up to create the 121C Arc Aileron, the world’s first pure carbon electric skateboard. The board fuses a 30″ pure carbon fiber deck from 121C with a drive train from Arc to create an electric board that’s high-performance and durable while still being lightweight and easy to use. The entire package weighs in at under 10 lbs because of the carbon fiber deck, but it is still durable enough to hold up to 264 lbs. When it comes to electric skateboards though, it all comes down to speed, distance and charging. The 121C Arc Aileron has a range of 11 miles, can hit a top speed of 22 mph and has a charging time of one and a half hours. It can also tackle inclines of up to 22% and has regenerative braking for the way down. Controls are taken care of with a Wii remote-esque handheld wrist controller. The project is currently raising funds on Kickstarter.
