Modifying an already great motorcycle takes a deft hand and a great degree of restraint, so as not to utterly bludgeon what made the bike so damned good in first place. Case in point, this BMW R65 by the folks at UK’s Auto Fabrica. Their latest offering uses a classic 1980 BMW R65, originally designated as a light touring bike, and turns it into the Type 10B, a moto that pulls off vintage even better than the original. Stripped down to the framework, the 10B gets a single rear swingarm and monoshock along with powerful Brembo brakes from the BMW r nineT, new electronics, new exhaust pipes, and a slick tank that’s been smoothed out for effect. Black spoked wheels, a suspended black suede seat gets framed by fins and a subtly ridged brake light element peeking out from underneath. It’s a worthy bike for getting around your urban jungle with the subtle kind of artistry we love.
