At Auction: 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG Widebody Coupe

We’re all for modern innovations, performance enhancements and creature comforts, but there are still quite a few cool cars from the ’80s that we love because it was the era of wide bodies and mean, angular lines. The 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG Widebody Coupe you see here is the perfect example of that. It’s not quite as murdered out as a Buick Grand National GNX–that could be fixed with a tint if you’re interested–but this Mercedes is just as impressive performance-wise because of the 6.0-liter V8, custom coilover suspension, big brakes and new wheels. The interior is equally as impressive with gray zebra wood and red/black leather combination throughout. The car might be old enough to drink, but it’s only showing 32,000 miles from new which means it’s probably going to fetch a pretty penny when it rolls across the auction block as part of Russo and Steele’s Scottsdale Auction from January 16th – January 19th.
