2022 BMW iX

2022 BMW iX

BMW wants to crush the competition with its first electric SUV, the 2022 iX. About the size of an X5, the iX takes efficiency, technology, and interior styling to the next level. It gets 300 miles of all-electric range and churns out 496 horsepower from two electric motors. It’ll take less than five seconds to rocket to 60 mph in total silence, while it also boasts fast-charging capability that juices it up to 75 miles of range in 10 minutes and up to 200 kW charging that can get it from 0% to 80% capacity in less than 40 minutes. The iX also makes use of BMW’s latest Carbon Cage structure that combines carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) with an aluminum spaceframe for lightness and structural rigidity. If you can get past the massive faux kidney grilles, the rest of the iX is quite fetching. It has a sloping roofline, huge 20″ aero wheels, and BMW Matrix technology that results in the thinnest LED headlight and taillight elements BMW has ever used in production vehicle. The interior is even more stunning with a single curved instrument and infotainment panel, thin HVAC vents embedded in the dash crease, a floating center console, and beautiful seats with all-over stitching. Roomy seating for five, an electrochromic and panoramic glass roof, and a racing steering wheel round out the comfy interior. Sales will start next year as a 2022 model, and it might just become the best-selling premium electric SUV around.
