2021 Toyota Mirai Sedan Concept

2021 Toyota Mirai Sedan Concept

If you haven’t laid eyes on the world’s ugliest car yet, just take one look at the current Toyota Mirai fuel cell vehicle. It’s only for sale in the state of California due to the limited hydrogen fuel infrastructure, but if you’ve seen the damn thing, you’re probably grateful it hasn’t broken free from the confines of the Golden State. But cast your gaze upon the Mirai’s planned rebirth into a luxury sedan, and let the car lust begin. Just unveiled in Greensboro, NC, the new Mirai Sedan Concept shows the world that Toyota understands sexy. The new sedan ditches the hatchback configuration, opting for a long and lean four-door with huge turbine wheels, huge wraparound headlights, a stretched-out wheelbase, a fastback roofline, and some of the slinkiest lines in the automotive industry. Toyota is aiming to bump the Mirai’s range by 30% (from an already impressive 312 miles to about 405. It will also get more power, more tech, and more luxury than the Frankenstein-ian first-gen vehicle that looks more like an angry hairdryer than a car. Look for production to start next year. Thankfully, Toyota is also working on expanding their hydrogen-fuel infrastructure, so the new Mirai might someday make it to your neck of the woods.
