Modding a vintage ride takes tremendous skill. Restomodding properly means keeping the aesthetic true to its original form outside while imbuing it with interior modernity and fresh under-the-hood power. This takes skill, as well as a vision of the past and the future and a fair amount of restraint. FJ Company has done just that with this 1984 Land Cruiser that retains the 4×4’s original beauty outside with some beautiful freshening while making the cabin rich and very 21st Century thanks to red Recaro bucket seats, an Alpine touchscreen and sound system, LED-lit ambiance, and beautiful backlit analog gauges worthy of a bespoke beast. Power gets seriously bumped thanks to a new engine with a supercharger for 318 horses (up from the original’s 135). The floor-mounted manual transmission and perfect manual windows thankfully remain.
