If you’re not a rabid follower of Le Mans or Ferrari history, the names Luigi Chinetti and Giovanni Michelotti might not be familiar. Chinetti was a Le Mans driver who Enzo Ferrari put in charge of Ferrari in America. Michelotti was one of the most prolific sports car designers of the 20th century. This 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 NART Spyder, serial number 14299, is one of three unique creations made by the two of them. As the story goes, Chinetti hooked up with Michelotti in 1974 to make NART’s next Le Mans car. Michelotti came back with a unique, wedge-shaped silhouette that inspired Chinetti to have three road versions of the NART Daytona Spyder created. This is the first of the three and was personally commissioned as a gift for Chinetti’s wife. Since its creation, the vehicle has moved between museums and renowned collectors. It can be yours if you have a cool million you’re looking to invest in automotive history.
