If it’s good enough for Steve McQueen, a vintage racing Jag should be good enough for the rest of us (even if it’s painted red instead of British Racing Green, a hue it once possessed but has since returned to its original red). This particular one will go under the auction gavel at the end of this month, and it’s worth a look. It has more history behind it than most, given the fact that it was purchased by British racer Peter Blond from the former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. What’s more, it has racing competition history that’s documented, as well as matching numbers and original bodywork. The divided cockpit, wooden steering wheel, and the rich blood red leather cabin make it all the more special. This storied racer is a keeper, and it should fetch a substantial price when it goes up for auction at RM Sotheby’s at the end of this month. What a way to start 2021.
