There were 18,000 entries in this year’s National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest, and the handful that emerged as winners are pretty damn spectacular. The top prize went to Marko Korošec for his shot entitled “Independence Day”—it’s name being chosen because the cloud system he captured outside Julesburg, Colorado happened to look like a ship from the movie.
