The “Dune House” seems to float above the earth and also cause tipping concerns. The inspiration for the Studio Viktor Sørless client was the modern house in Roman Polanski’s 2010 film The Ghost Writer with its Walter Knoll decorated interior. The quad-directional home features expansive panoramic windows, solar heating, a green roof, and the untrammeled view of the waterfront and grassy surroundings. The fact that it’s elevated was intentional for the purpose of opening the house up to nature and the wind, a fortress of solitude of sorts. It’s only access is via a jagged wooden walkway and stairs to its base where the elevator to the living quarters resides. The house is currently under construction in Denmark.
