Designed and developed by the Amsterdam-based collective of creatives known as Fiction Factory, the Wikkelhouse prefab is made with cardboard and other eco-friendly materials. The gorgeous and simple structure is built in modular sections made out of dozens of layers of cardboard covered with wood paneling inside and out that can be assembled, disassembled or moved to create houses, offices or retreats of any size you want. Since each segment of Wikkelhouse weighs just over 1,100 pounds, it can be placed everywhere from the beach to the backyard without having to worry about a foundation. If you’re worried about the impact and durability, the house that can be setup within a day is three times more sustainable than traditional housing and built to last over a hundred years. Inside you’ll find a completely configurable setup with options for a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom or just a quiet space to catch up on those letters from your favorite stationery shop that you keep neglecting to write.
