Although they’re not quite a reality, the Veliz Arquitecto-imagined, beetle-shaped Cabins on The Mountain would likely be built on in one of Cuba’s mountain ranges. The wooden cocoons sit on concrete platforms and boast open-view construction that drinks in the scenery and merges with the natural surroundings. The simple accommodations include a single room with integrated bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen. Glass openings allow untrammeled views, and the cantilevered terraces permit daring relaxation down the mountainside.
