As cool as some of these new “Smart Locks” are for our homes, we don’t necessarily want to strap a huge hunk of metal on our door frame. Luckily, Yves Behar and August worked out a stylish and fun alternative. You can send access keys to anyone with a smartphone and decide access times for the keys to be used along with expiration dates. When you’re entering your home, the August Smart Lock automatically unlocks your door and LED indicators alert you to whether the door is locked or not. It’s simple to install (fits 90% of locks) and connects via Bluetooth to your phone and any guest you may grant access to. It comes out later this year and will be just another piece of tech to bring your home into the next century.
