Amazon Spheres

If you have any friends that work in tech, they’ve probably told you countless stories about their companies offering incredible work perks. We’re all for surfing, free oil changes, paid vacations and those other obscene perks, but sometimes we just want a nice, quiet place to relax during the day. Enter global shopping behemoth / web giant / the company that gave birth to the richest family in the world, Amazon and the new Amazon Spheres. The centerpiece of the new Amazon Headquarters in Seattle, The Spheres is a multi-story, glass-enclosed workplace where “employees can think and work differently surrounded by plants” by adding a direct link to nature. What’s that mean in practice? A bunch of giant glass domes that’s home to more than 40,000 plants from the cloud forest regions of over 30 different countries, along with living walls, waterfalls, terraces, a cafe and conference rooms. What’s even better? The Spheres are open to the public on weekends for you to enjoy even if you don’t work for them.
