Ink Made Out of Air Pollution

Ink Made Out of Air Pollution

For the most part, our atmospheric carbon capturing solutions revolve around planting more trees. It’s definitely an effective way to sequester carbon, but we shouldn’t limit our thinking to just reforestation. That’s why we were excited to hear about Air-Ink from Graviky. Through a post tailpipe retrofit, called a KAALINK device, Graviky can filter out the environmentally harmful soot from diesel generators and vehicles, collect it, and refine the soot into an ink pigment. As part of the product’s intensive testing, the ink was then given to artists to make sure this was something they could actually use and suffer no drop in artistic quality. The artists took six months with the ink and have nothing but good things to say about it, noticing no quality dips and saying they liked the extra level of meaning the ink gave to their work. Pens and markers come in four different sizes as well as screen printing ink, so this isn’t one single novelty pen you’ll buy and forget about. This is an actual product you can use every day.
