Chef Cynthia Wong is a six-time finalist for the James Beard Awards’ Outstanding Pastry Chef that has turned her attention to the wide world of ice cream desserts with Life Raft Treats, South Carolina’s only chef-driven ice cream truck. Every one of Wong’s delicious ice cream treats is made with high-quality, locally-farmed dairy, eggs, and other ingredients, which makes them as delicious as they are responsible. Most importantly, Wong has never lost her sense of humor because, instead of the traditional ice cream options, she has reinvented all of our childhood favorites in new forms like her signature “Not Fried Chicken” Ice Cream. At face value, it looks just like a 9 piece bucket of delectable fried chicken, but it’s so much more delicious than that. Each one of these “drumsticks” is a complex ice cream creation made with waffle ice cream, a chocolate-covered cookie “bone” and a coating of white chocolate and crushed corn flakes. Equal parts crispy, crunchy, creamy, salty, and sweet, it’s as fun to eat as it is delicious. It should go without saying, but the 9-piece “Not Fried Chicken” Ice Cream Bucket does not contain any chicken because it’s made out of ice cream. Get your bucket direct from Goldbelly below.
