Rye Aged in Absinthe Barrels

Rye Aged in Absinthe Barrels

Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. and Copper & Kings American Brandy Co. are producing some of the most interesting spirits to come out of Kentucky in ages. It got even more interesting and innovative when the two brands teamed up for something truly special–Peerless x Copper & Kings Rye Aged in Absinthe Barrels. It starts with the award-winning Peerless Rye Whiskey that’s non-chill filtered and strictly sweet mash except this time around it’s barrel proof and clocks in a hefty 111.5 proof. After that, the complex rye goes into a Copper & Kings Absinthe Alembic barrel for additional finishing that imparts the absinthe flavors into the whiskey itself. As Peerless Master Distiller Caleb Kilburn described it, it’s “bold, exciting, intriguing, and bursting at the seams with flavor, this crossover is the perfect example of what a few artisans with big ambitions can accomplish when they come together.” Peerless x Copper & Kings Rye Aged in Absinthe Barrels is available for local pickup at the distillery.
