As we’ve gotten older our hangovers have gotten worse. Problem is, our love for bourbon and beer has not diminished in the least. In our never-ending quest to find things that help with those painful AMs, we came across Morning Recovery, a drink that’s received $8 million in backing from Silicon Valley-based groups. While we’re always skeptical about magic elixirs, let us try and explain what makes Morning Recovery effective, supposedly. DHM is a flavonoid derived from a Japanese raisin tree that’s supposed to help break down toxins released from alcohol. The DHM in Morning Recovery is said to help minimize the “rebound effect” booze has on your brain, meaning no headaches, brain fog, or sluggishness. Each drink is also packed with classic hangover fighters like vitamin C and B, milk thistle, electrolytes, and green tea extract. Knock back a bottle while you’re having a few drinks and apparently you’ll wake up feeling good. If it doesn’t work, pork roll, egg, and cheese is always there for you.
