Johnnie Walker is a go-to staple whisky that can be found behind every bar and on every bar cart across the world. Whether you’re into Red Label like Winston Churchill or a Game of Thrones fan into the new White Walker, there’s a bottle of Walker you’ll love. If you happen to have a cool $25k to spend on a single bottle–and the connections to get one–you need to check out the new John Walker Masters’ Edition from Johnnie Walker. To start, it’s the first 50 year old whisky the brand has ever produced. They’re only making 100 bottles of the whisky that was “half a century in the making.” Each of the six whiskies that have been blended for this marvelous creation are from ancient distilleries that were around during the lifetime (1805 – 1857) of founder John Walker. And for the record, five of those six distilleries (Glen Albyn, Glenury Royal, Caledonian, Cambus, and Port Dundas) are no longer in existence; the exception being Blair Athol which is still around. As if that’s not all reason enough for the absurd price tag, it’s packaged in an individually numbered, double-cased black crystal Baccarat decanter and housed in a cabinet made by N.E.J. Stevenson, the same people that make cabinets for The Queen. It’s safe to say this whisky belongs on the Scotch Bucket List.
