All it takes is a few seconds in the comments section of any popular website or social network to realize there are a lot of stupid debates happening on the Internet. One of the most ridiculous and longest running arguments is the proper pronunciation of the name of animated looping images. Despite the creator’s claims to the opposite, we’re most certainly in the “Gif” camp. Peanut butter brand Jif agrees with us. They teamed up with popular .gif sharing platform GIPHY for a limited edition jar of creamy peanut butter with a special label that calls it “Gif–HARD g pronounciation–animated looping images.” We couldn’t agree more. We’re not so sure about paying three times as much for the same jar of Jif creamy peanut butter with a funny label, but it’s probably worth it just for display purposes.
