Thanksgiving is coming early this year. This Sunday, November 18, find your way to Lexington, Kentucky, for “Pappy Thanksgiving,” a bonkers event at the Chevy Chase Inn—the city’s oldest bar—where they’ll pour different Pappy expressions at cost. Yes, at cost. That means a 1.5-ounce pour of Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery 10 Year will run you $5, Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year “Lot B” will cost $6.25, 15 Year will be marked at $8.50, and 20 Year will come in at $14.25. How do you get in on this insanity? Well, it won’t be easy, as it’s not exactly an infinite supply of hooch. Doors open at 2pm and everyone in line receives a number. At 4:30pm, the Chevy Chase Inn will start selling pours, with a guarantee that the first 70 people in line will be covered. We’d be shocked if there aren’t far more than 70 people in line, so best to show up early.
