The American dream has evolved quite a bit since the proliferation of the Internet, but the fundamentals have stayed the same. The top of the list for us has always been owning a business. Windfalls like money and time (never seems to be enough of either) are great, but actually doing some good has always been a part of our list. Blake Mycoskie from Toms found a way to make shoes and glasses (both of which we love) and still help out kids in need. Then he wrote a book about his experiences, as well as those of many other do-good entrepreneurs, and how to succeed without forgetting that the bottom line isn’t just about dollars and cents. This is that book. It’s the stories, ideas and practical tips (read: helpful kick in the pants) you need to get your project off the ground.
