When we’re at a bar with a dartboard, it’s only a matter of time before we start pestering the bartender for ammunition. But, level of intoxication aside, we only ever approach an intermediate skill level. Seems like we’re not the only ones, although for Mark Rober, the engineering background means he has a significant advantage over us. Namely, he built a dartboard that guarantees him a bullseye with every throw. It works by compiling information sent from 6 IR cameras around the board and sending that data to a series of motors connected to the dartboard. The motors then move the board along an X and Y axis to make sure the bullseye positions itself perfectly with the path of the dart. And this works every time, so long as your throw was going to hit the dartboard in the first place. It probably won’t do much to improve your basic dart game, but all that really matters is that you feel cool playing.
